Over 20 years ago Chris Devlin, a 12 string rhythm player and Jorge Ramirez, a bass player came together with no other intention than to write songs and practice the music they wrote. At first, it was no more than a hobby, a fun thing to do.
Both Chris and Jorge were tired of cover songs, songs that all seemed in one way or another to say the same thing, they wanted to write and play something different, exciting, and new.
After a few years of playing together it seemed like Jorge could read Chris’s mind and vice versa. Chris would write rhythms, and Jorge would know exactly where Chris was going with his music and when Jorge would break out during a song with a base lead. Chris would know exactly where Jorge was going, hence the name String Chemistry. They found a unique way of communicating with each other trough their music, a Chemistry of sound and mind.
It wasn’t long before they had enough songs to produce their first CD La Ventana along with the help of lead guitar player Joe Carducci.
